I can't remember the exact day. I remember my mum was catering an event in Reading. I was supposed to go with her but she was getting on my nerves and I said I wasn't going. She had friends going with her anyway. I remember my god mother calling me early in the morning to tell me my mum collapsed at the venue and had to be rushed to hospital in an ambulance. She wasn't sure what had happened or what hospital she went to. I found out my mum had a mild heart attack. One of her other friends had accompanied her to the hospital and called me. It was scary because she was so far away. I didn't drive and had no way of getting all the way up to Reading. One of my mums friends drove me up there a few days later to see her. She looked so pale. She had to have an angioplasty done and had to stay in hospital for a few more days.
I felt really bad that I didn't go with her. I guess I felt like if I was there I could have done something. She was so far away and on her own. Definitely one of the scariest moments in my life.
