- They are selfish - They only ever think about themselves or what you can do for them. My brother only ever calls when he needs money.
- They are rude - My sister and my mum in particular have no manners. They speak to you as if you are beneath them. My mum is quick to yell and shout.
- They are violent - My brother is a bruiser. He has a quick temper and his answer to everything to break shit and rough up his girlfriend. He gets it from my mum. Her first response when you piss her off is to lash out.
- They are opinionated - They always think they are right. They will force their views on you and act like you can't make your own decisions.
- They are needy - I'm the youngest but everyone wants to come to me for advice. Or unleash all their drama on me and expect me to fix it.
- They are gossips - I can't tell them anything. My mum likes to discuss all our family business with her nosey friends.
- They like to guilt trip me - My mum likes to use the fact that she is ill to get people to do things for her. Or my sister will use the fact that my nephew is autistic to get me to help her.
- They are two-faced - One minute they are all on good terms, and the next they are talking about each other behind their backs. Or they say one thing to my face and then I hear something completely different from some one else.
- They are lazy - They just are.
- Something positive? They can be supportive - When I found out I was pregnant, they were quite supportive of me. They helped out when my daughter was born as well. We were all supportive of my sister when she found out my nephew was autistic. We still are supportive of her and him. But sometimes they can throw this back in your face.
- They are greedy - Okay I tried with the positive. My mum especially, when it comes to money. She always wants and is never satisfied with what she gets. Example: she went on a day trip to France last weekend. She was crying broke and asked my sister for some money. My sister gave her £60 and she complained that wasn' t enough. Now why are you going to France if you know you have no money?
- On the rare occasion that everyone is getting along They are cool - We can sit and have a laugh together. Talk and hang out like normal families do. But that doesn't last long because some one usually f**ks it up.
- I am the "mug" of the family - Because despite the list above, I still put up with them and help them when they need me.
Don't they sound like a great bunch of people?
Family......you gotta love 'em......right?

Wow... you know what they say, you can choose your friends but you can't choose your family.
So, I'm not the only one who cringes at the mere thought of a family get-together.
My mom is queen of the guilt trip. :) However, I love her to death anyway.
yeah you gotta love family. At least you realize how they are. some people live in a delusion about their family
Families are what they are. What can I say I'm one of 9 children and we have everything. But what a blessing they can be. Love the title of your blog lol.
You know what they say--you can pick your friends, but not your family. Hope things will work out though with you and your family.
Well, you can't say they are a boring lot!
Every family has problems I suppose. Thanks for stopping by mine.
Saying it how it is. Interesting list.
My PopArtDiva Blog - a retro pop culture blog - often has posts about my family when I was growing up.
Whenever I refer to my brother I simply call him Butthead, my favorite childhood nickname for him - he would fit in nicely with your family, lol.
I think we all have family members who embody those qualities.
Of course, not everybody would be eager to admit it but we do.
Cool idea for a T-13 post by the way :-) Hope you're having a great day!!!
yo I think that all families are needed. My fam calls me every 5 seconds for something
Sounds a blast...
My brother says with our family: Two's a crowd, Three's a tragedy, Four's a disaster and Five is Armageddon.
Umm, I'm guessing they don't read your blog (LOL).
Wow - and you still put up to them? I wouldn't. But hey, that's just me.
Family will always be family. hate it or love it.
That's why we have friends...to make up for our families shortcomings. :)
I agree with Eaton! I'm closer to my family now, but once upon a time, I separated myself from them as much as possible and found friends to be my family... sometimes you just have to, to stay sane!
